Asom Darshan scheme Launched by Assam Govt
The Asom Darshan scheme has been launched almost after a year it has been decided to be launched in the finance budget. The main motive of the launch is to offer financial help for improving the places of interest and place of religious importance. In addition to this, it includes the places of natural beauty, places with historical and religious importance as has been commented by Finance Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.
For this, the state government has offered rupees 710 crores. Also, a budget of rupees 150 crores has been sanctioned to improve 316 infrastructures of the destinations of tourist interest. In this relation, it is also said that a fixed amount should be given to each of the places for construction of bathroom and have a facility of clean drinking water along with the garbage disposal system.
At the time of official launch of the scheme held at Khanapara field, the beneficiaries of the institution have been invited to join. However, the scheme has been launched by Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal.
It is further known that the scheme program consists of 4 components – offering annuity grant to the devalayas, improving the basic infrastructure of the places of natural interest along with historical importance, help in the betterment of infrastructure of the religious places, offering better connectivity to the visitors.
In relation to the scheme launch, Finance Minister is of the opinion that the state government has acquired a wide area of land that belongs to different institutions for different religious work.
In the list of 915 religious places that have got rupees 10 lakh for infrastructure development includes 186 satras, 459 temples, 123 naamghars, 26 churches and 47 mosques. These buildings are 100 years old, and state minister is of the opinion that there is a lack of basic facilities in these places. It was making the experience of the devotees the worst one that expected. However, the scheme will be implemented by the deputy commissioners in charge. In this regard, the PWD has said that it will spearhead the aim of making the road network a better one and given a cost of rupees 615 crores. Therefore, by this, the government is trying to improve the condition of the places of public interest that include places with natural beauty, religious and historical places. For this, the government has to be careful about the successful implementation of the above-said scheme.
