Poor Widow’s Daughter & Orphan Girls Marriage Scheme Benefits

  • The main target group under the scheme is the widow who has to marry off their girl child. Also, the orphans are included in this scheme.
  •  The scheme launch’s main objective is to offer financial help to widow mothers or orphans with which they can arrange for their marriage.
  • Rupees 30,000 will be given to the candidates under the scheme 
  • The applicants can apply for the scheme either before or after 60 days from the date of marriage

However, handling the scheme and offering the benefits has been shifted from the Social Welfare Department to the Department of women and child development GCTD. The department is designed and maintained by the DOEACC center, New Delhi. 

Eligibility Criteria

Residents of the state

 Only the bonafide residents of the state are eligible to apply for the scheme. 

Annual income

The candidate’s annual income should be less than rupees 1 lakh to be eligible to avail of the scheme perks. However, the previous income limit was rupees 60, 000

Age limit

The daughters of widow mothers or orphan girls should not be less than 18 years.

Identification proof

The candidates need to offer suitable identification details at the time of registration for the above-said scheme.

List of documents

Income certificate –

A suitable income certificate should be produced at the time of registration. It shall help to know the annual limit and ensure whether the applicant is eligible or not. 

Residential details –

The candidate should produce a suitable certificate to justify that they are residents of the state for atlest 5 years.

Identification proof –

As identification, the candidates can offer voter ID cards, ration cards, and the like documents, and higher authorities will scrutinize it at the time of registration.

Death certificate –

The widow who is applying for the scheme should produce the death certificate of their husbands. However, this may not be applicable to orphans.

Child’s birth certificate

When applying for your girl child, you have to produce a suitable birth certificate to check the age of the girl

Marriage certificate

The applicant has to produce a marriage certificate issued by a state or central government or invitation card at the time of registration for the scheme.
