Amit Shah, Union Home Minister, has come up with the plan of offering 100 electric potter wheels to the certified artisans in Gujarat. Main purpose of launching the initiative –
The main motive of starting with the initiative is to help the marginalized community comprising potters in Gujarat. It is a step towards the concept of Aatmanirbhar.

The primary initiative to help the poetry community has been taken by the Union Home Minister Amit Shah. In addition to this, the Ministry has been helped by Village Industries Commission, Kumhar Sashaktikaran Yojana of Khadi and others
Benefits for the potters –
State government is trying to arrange for thing along with the railway of the state so that it becomes easy for the potters to sell off their products to other places
Reviving culture –
By offering help with electric potter wheel, the state union is trying to revive the cultural and traditional heritage of the state
Assistance offered by KVIC –
Since the coming of Kumhar Sashaktikaran scheme, the KVIC has given training to almost 750 potters belonging to different villages in Gujarat.
The correct execution of the initiative shall improve the standard of living of the potter community of the state. Besides offering training to the potters, KVIC has also given electric potters and other equipment to the potters to help them.
Eligibility criteria –
Residential details –
The initiative has been taken by the Union home minister of Gujarat and therefore, it is applicable only for the potter’s community of the state.
Category of pottery business –
All the potter’s community who face it hard to produce pottery items and sell them for the right price are eligible to avail of the benefits.
Income details –
The potters have to show their income details at the time of registration for the scheme.
Identification proof –
The candidate should have suitable identification to be furnished at the time of registration to get the benefits of the government initiative.

The candidate has to furnish Aadhaar card, Voter ID card, ration card and the like at the time of registration for this initiative.
Income certificate–
It is amust for the potter to produce their income certificate at the time of registration to help the authority decide whether the candidate is eligible to benefit.
Residential proof –
Only the native potters are living in Gujarat are suitable to apply under the state initiative. Potters belonging to other states cannot take part in the scheme.
Registration Process
Therefore, by the successful implementation of the initiative, it shall help the potters to handle the process of making pottery and then selling them at the correct price in the market. As per the Kumhar Sashaktikaran Yojana, each of the farmers can earn within a range of rupees 3000 to rupees 10,000 monthly. The promptness shown through the initiative shall help the potters overcome the drudgery they have to face about production and selling the items. Now, they can get a good market and sell their items.
