Tripura Mukhyamantri Matru Pushti Uphaar schemes 2020-21 to combat malnourishment [ Eligibility Criteria, Documents, Registration Form]

The Tripura government has launched the Mukhyamantri Matru Pushti Uphaar. The main objective is to offer nutrition kits to the lactating and pregnant women. In addition, it also aims to deal with maternal and infant mortality and the like issues in the state. Even easy testing facilities will be offered for granted women in Agartala. Main focus of the scheme launch –

To curb problems like an infant, maternal mortality, and malnutrition in pregnant women, the Tripura government has come up with the scheme’s initiative.

Beneficiaries of the scheme –

Pregnant and lactating women are the target group of the scheme.

A total of 40, 000 women will be benefitted from the scheme

Items included in the food kit –

The food kit will include grocery items, soybeans, jaggery, mixed pulses, ghee, peanuts and the like. 

Total expense for scheme launch –

The state government has estimated that a total of rupees 8 crores will be required for the successful implementation of the scheme.

Malnourished children –

The state children suffering from severe malnourishment will be offered four eggs every week as per the scheme’s rules.

Only after testing the women under Primary Health Centers in the state will the kits be given to them. However, this scheme will be launched in addition to Pradhan Mantri Matru Bandana Yojana for effective results. The revised guidelines of scheme indicate that the children will be given six eggs weekly with 200 ml of milk and 20 gram of jaggery for their health. This shall require almost rupees 23 lakhs yearly.

Eligibility criteria

Residential details –

 As the scheme has been introduced in Tripura, only the pregnant women of the state are eligible.

Identify proof –

 The identification details are required for scrutiny by the state authorities to check the women’s identity.    

Health condition –

The women will be tested four times in the Primary Health Centers before they are considered eligible to avail of a nutrition kit from the scheme.

Documents required

Residential documents

Address proof and the like documents should be furnished at the time of registration. This is to justify that the women are the permanent residents of the state.

Health reports

 The test reports are required to be furnished at the time of registration for the scheme. It shall help the health department to understand the deficit of nutrition level in the woman. 

Identification proof

As suitable identification, the women candidates need to furnish Aadhaar card, Voter ID card, ration card, and the like. Along with this, they should offer full contact details.

Online procedure for registration

The scheme is a newly launched one, and therefore, the state government is yet to declare the steps for its registration. Even the portal launch is due to government officials. As soon as it comes up, the beneficiaries will be the first to know about it and subsequently get the benefits.

Therefore, Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb is offering the nutrition kits to pregnant women to combat malnourishment in the state. As per the 2019 report, maternal mortality in India is reducing given the time period 2014-2016 and 2015-2017. Thus, the state government is trying its best to offer suitable assistance to pregnant and lactating women in the state.
